CORONAVIRUS

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and resulting pandemic has people focusing on the need to protect themselves, and every aspect of their lives from potential contamination, and with no vaccine available yet, it has led to its rapid spread and resulting fatalities worldwide.

HAZGIENE is an industry leader within the infectious disease and biohazard remediation arena, including Coronavirus disinfection. We provide rapid emergency response 24/7 throughout South Africa so that you can have peace of mind in the event of exposure, along with our highest professional standards.

Our Coronavirus cleanup

Coronavirus has rapidly gained a reputation for being very dangerous. SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed as airborne and can remain so for 8 hours. It can remain alive on surfaces for over 7 days and people infected by the virus do not show symptoms for approximately 14 days after initial infection, making it difficult to track and contain. Therefore, having a trusted disease and biohazard remediation company with you is so important.

HAZGIENE complies with OSHA regulations. We are certified by the SAIOSH (South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) and follow the most up-to-date procedures with all our disease cleanup and disinfection. We adhere to the Department of Health, Labour and the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, best practices.

Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) is still new, and so we regularly communicate with the Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the most recent updates from CDC and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) on the usage of approved disinfectants.

HAZGIENE provides two essential services to fight the Coronavirus pandemic
in South Africa.

HAZGIENE’s preventative service:

This is a precautionary periodic disinfection treatment for all surfaces that could have been exposed to the virus. We also treat previously contaminated zones after more than 7 days with this service. It entails periodic advanced spray tech pressure misting, ULV cold misting, as well as electrostatic misting depending on the surfaces and environments to be treated. We also decontaminate Human Frequent Contact Points by hand (HFCP’s sensitive equipment). We make use of approved anti-microbial chemicals that target the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The frequency of treatments would depend on the risk associated with the volumes and movement of people and goods that may pose a threat of infection. We have chemicals that have a residual action on surfaces for up to 14 days. Our premium chemical has an up-to-50-days residual action. On-site ATP testing is carried out randomly to confirm disinfection levels. HAZGIENE disinfects premises, vehicles, equipment, and even personal protective clothing.

HAZGIENE’s remediation service:

This treatment involves the decontamination of an already established contaminated area, vehicle, or equipment. These are positive contamination zones. The risk of infection is extremely high and probable. We use our biohazard removal and remediation 5-step process, which involves intensive deep surface decontamination processes, as well as disinfection methods as used in our preventative treatments. The surfaces in these areas are ATP tested to confirm disinfection levels.

Disinfecting Coronavirus

We use CDC and EPA approved industrial-strength disinfectants with a broad spectrum kill ability.

  • All infected materials are cleaned, disinfected, and properly disposed of as biohazard waste.
  • Fully encapsulated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and full-face respirator masks are worn at all times by our certified cleanup technicians.
  • We adhere to strict Coronavirus processes for our all our equipment, vehicles, and waste storage areas. We understand that a disease outbreak is an extremely serious situation, and so the health and safety of you, your family and employees is on the line. Do not take any chances, call us.

OUR PRIORITY IS THE SAFETY OF YOUR EMPLOYEES, YOUR BUSINESS, YOUR COMMUNITY AND YOU!

When choosing a company to provide Coronavirus disinfection services, it is critical to select a company such as HAZGIENE, which is regulatory compliant and experienced in dealing with specialised cleaning and biohazards.

The Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1995 places an obligation on employers to maintain a working environment that is safe and healthy. The employer must ensure that the workplace is free from any risk to the health of its employees as far as reasonably practicable. Within the context of SARS-CoV-2, there is an obvious obligation on the employer to manage the risk of workplace contamination.

The employer can establish a healthy working environment by ensuring that the workplace is clean and hygienic through the promotion of regular handwashing and social distancing by employees, whilst also keeping employees informed on developments related to Coronavirus.

WHAT IS REMEDIATION OF CORONAVIRUS?

Biohazard remediation is very different to standard cleaning. Biohazard remediation is the removal, cleaning and disinfection of blood, other bodily fluids, and potential harmful pathogens in affected areas. Coronavirus is a communicable disease – this means that it is able to be transmitted from one sufferer to another; it is contagious or infectious. Due to the high-exposure risk to pathogens, biohazard remediation is a specialty service that needs proper training, equipment and certification.

To many, biohazard remediation (and its commonly used alternative, crime scene cleanup) sounds like standard cleaning. The two services could not be more different. Biohazard remediation refers to the removal, cleaning, and disinfection of blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially harmful pathogens in affected areas after a death, accident, or communicable disease outbreak (such as Coronavirus). Because of the high exposure risk to bloodborne pathogens, biohazard remediation is a specialty service that requires proper training, equipment, certification, and licensing.

5-Step remediation process

We stand by our work with a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.
